3.26. Replacement of brake liquid

Do not apply brake liquid repeatedly being in the use! The used brake liquid is easy for distinguishing from fresh on more dark color.

At all do not merge brake liquid in the sewerage and do not throw out in containers for a household waste! Inofrmatsy by rules of utilization of technical liquids can be received at car repair shops.

General information

The following belongs to number of the tools necessary for performance of described procedure:

  • Cap key for an otvorachivaniye of the union of removal of air;
  • Transparent plastic hose in internal diameter of 6 mm and capacity for collecting brake liquid;
  • Necessary amount of the brake liquid corresponding to the Specification;

Hydraulic liquid through a time of brake hoses and a ventilating opening of the tank of the main brake cylinder (GTTs) absorbs moisture containing in the atmosphere owing to what in use the car the temperature of its boiling gradually falls that is interfaced to risk of decrease in efficiency of functioning of brake mechanisms as a result of active steam formation in a hydraulic path at high brake loadings.

Replacement of brake liquid should be made not less often than once in two years, it is desirable in the spring.

At car operation in the hilly district replacement of brake liquid should be made more often.

On HUNDRED removal of air from brake system it is, as a rule, made by means of the special adaptation, however, in case of need pumping of a brake path can be made and by means of a pedal of a foot brake, - the help of the assistant is required. The description of procedure of pumping of brake system is provided in Head Brake and auxiliary systems.

Order of performance of procedure

With application of reserve capacity and the device for pumping

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Unscrew a GTTs tank cover.
  1. By means of a syringe or a rubber pear pump out from the tank liquid.
  2. Operating according to instructions of manufacturers, connect to the tank reserve capacity with brake liquid and the device for path pumping (see. Head Brake and auxiliary systems).
  3. Operating also, as well as at replacement of hydraulic liquid of a drive of blocking of differential (see. The section Replacement of liquid of a drive of blocking of differential), serially lower old brake liquid via pumping gates at first drum-type, then disk brake mechanisms.
  4. Disconnect reserve capacity and the device for pumping, then screw and tighten a GTTs tank cover.

Without application of reserve capacity and the device for pumping

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Replacement of brake liquid is made in the course of performance of pumping of a hydraulic path (see. Brake and auxiliary systems), - pumping it is necessary to make head until fresh brake liquid will not start to follow from gates of brake mechanisms pure, free from air bubbles.

After replacement performance

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Make sure of durability of fixing of brake tubes and hoses in all provided clamps. Check reliability of a tightening of shtutserny connections and pumping gates. Check liquid level in the GTTs tank.
  2. On the working engine check tightness of system. For this purpose about 10 times press a brake pedal with effort of 200-300 N (there correspond 20-30 kg). The pedal of a brake should not leave back. Check on tightness all connections.
  3. In summary check action of brakes on the road with not heavy traffic of transport. For this purpose it is necessary to make not less than one strong braking, having checked ABS action (a sign of operation of ABS the intensive pulsation of a pedal of a foot brake is when braking).

The effect of operation of ABS is best of all shown on roads without an asfaltobetonny covering.
