7.4.6. System of start of the engine - the general information and precautionary measures

General information

The unique task of system of start of the engine is ensuring rotation of the engine with a speed, sufficient for its start.

The system of start consists of a starter, the storage battery, the switch of ignition, the traction relay and connecting electroconducting.

The starter represents the electric motor of a direct current with the mixed excitement and the electromagnetic traction relay established outside. The starter consists of the case or a stator with windings of excitement, an anchor with the obgonny coupling, covers with shchetkoderzhatel and the traction relay.

At starter inclusion through a winding of the traction relay of a starter the current from the storage battery starts to proceed. The anchor of the relay is involved and contacts become isolated. At the same time the relay anchor via the driving lever provides gear wheel promotion with the obgonny coupling, thus the nave of the coupling turns on screw shlitsa of a shaft of an anchor of a starter and turns as well a gear wheel that facilitates input of the last in gearing with a gear wreath of a flywheel. Through the closed contacts of the traction relay passes a current feeding windings of a stator and an anchor and an anchor of a starter starts to rotate together with a nave and the obgonny coupling.

After engine start frequency of rotation of a gear wheel exceeds frequency of rotation of an anchor of a starter. In this case the obgonny coupling is freely turned, and the torque is not transferred from an engine flywheel to a shaft of an anchor of a starter. Activation of a starter occurs only at the squeezed-out pedal of coupling (model to RKPP) / the lever of the AT selector transferred to the position "N" or "R".

Precautionary measures

At carrying out any works with system of start of the engine observe the following requirements:

  1. In order to avoid an electromotor exit out of operation as a result of an overheat do not activate a starter continuously for the period of more than 15 seconds, - before repeated inclusion wait for not less than 1 minute.
